576w battery backup stand alone system

Louisiana Homepower, a division of Gulf South Solar supplied and installed this 576wp battery backup stand alone PV system.

The photovoltaic system is powered by 8 – 72 watt GE modules. They are configured in 2 strings of 4 to produce approximately 17.6 amps @ 24 volts dc.

The modules are mounted on a pair of roof-mounted PowerFab racks that are located on the back patio roof.

The DC voltage from the modules is isolated from the charge controller/ inverter with proper fusing.

A Xantrax 1524 inverter take the solar input DC from the module string and outputs 120 volts AC. This power is then distributed to 6 of the house circuits with a manual transfer switch.

A bank of 4 Deca L-16 420 amp-hour solar batteries are charged with the 30amp ASC charge controllers.
