2.0 KVp battery backup stand alone system
Louisiana Homepower, a division of Gulf South Solar was selected to work with a Baton Rouge architect, AIA to supply and install a 2.0 KVp battery backup stand alone PV system. The photovoltaic system is powered by 16 – 120 watt modules. They are configured in 4 strings of 4 to produce approximately 28.6 amps @ 48 vdc and are combined at the panels.
The modules are mounted on 2 pole mounted UniRac racks that are located in the back yard and are cabled underground to power room.
The DC voltage from the modules is isolated from the inverters with a Xantrax disconnect. Delta Lightning protection is provided before the disconnect.
A Xantrax 5548 inverter take the solar input DC from the module strings and outputs 240 VAC to it's own power distribution panel.
A bank of 16 Rolls-Surette batteries are charged with the internal battery charger and supply power to the loads when the sun is not shining
System performance is remotely monitored with a TriMetric monitor in the living area of the home.
